Mr Sandy Cutler CEO of Eaton told Reuters in July 2010 that the company would use emerging acquisition opportunities to grow its electrical, hydraulic and aerospace businesses.
The company acquired Wright Line Holding Inc, a privately held maker of enclosures and racks for electronics for data centers, in August 2010. It bought EMC Engineers to strengthen its energy services business in July.
