NewsChannel5 in Nashville reported that an explosion at a Tennessee powdered steel plant injured five workers Friday,

The explosion was reported at 6:37AM local time.

Three of the five employees injured Friday were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, according to fire officials. Two others were taken to Sumner Regional Hospital in Gallatin.

The cause was not yet known.

It was the third accident at the Hoeganaes plant in Gallatin, just northeast of Nashville, this year. Two workers were killed in a January explosion at the plant, and a fire in March injured one person. One of the men hurt in the January explosion died Saturday, 16 weeks after the accident.

Hoeganaes manufactures a form of powdered steel that is used in gears for power tools and vehicles.
