
According to Bulgarian Prime Minister Mr Boyko Borisov, the outcome of plans to build a second Nuclear Power Plant in the Danube town of Belene will finally become clear in up to three weeks.
Speaking in an interview for the State TV Mr Borisov said that the NPP project will be either approved or rejected based on the assessment of its efficiency, price and safety.
On other topics, the PM voiced hope that by March 2012, a majority will be formed in the Parliament to pass constitutional amendments that would cap the budget deficit at 3%.
He further revealed that he would initiate legislative changes aiming at equaling the length of annual paid leave of State servants with the one of those who works for the private sector. He added that "Bulgarians who are employed by the State administration have a warrant less long leave. There would be huge resistance, but I hope the business and the labor unions would support us."
He also commented on the resignation of the chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council Mr Andrey Ivanov, saying the latter had inflicted tensions around his post and had to go.
Mr Borisov's Deputy and Interior Minister Mr Tsvetan Tsvetanov declared that the change stemmed only from the results of the local elections and refused to comment on details of Mr Ivanov's actions and it they were motives for him quitting.
Mr Borisov said that "We don't have lobbies in the party."
