Taiwan's Hsin iron & Steel has announced that it will raise the scrap purchasing price by TWD 500 per tonne, following a rise of TWD 600 per tonne.

Current scrap purchasing has pushed the price to TWD 8,800 to TWD 9,300 per tonne, with a total rise of TWD 1,100 per tonne in one week.

It is expected that the rebar price will also be supported, and rise to TWD 14,500 per tonne in spite of demand remaining poor.
