It is reported that France exported 5.79 million tonnes of scrap in 2008, down by 6.7% YoY.

Among those scrap exports, 1.68 million tonnes were shipped to Belgium, accounting for 29.1% of the total exports, down by 5% YoY, 1.61 million tonnes were shipped to Spain, 27.8% of the total exports, down by 8.5% YoY, 1.13 million tonnes were shipped to Italy, 19.6% of the total exports, down by 6.1% YoY.

467,000 tonnes were shipped to Luxemburg, 8.1% of the total exports, down by 7.5% YoY and 381000 tonnes were shipped to Germany, 6.6% of the total exports, down by 26.8% YoY.

These top five counties accounted for 91.2% of the total exports.
