
According to statistics released by the French Steel Federation, France produced 1.47 million tonnes of crude steel in May 2012, rising by 1.3% YoY and also increasing by 3.85% MoM.
In May 2012, the crude steel output from the country's electric furnaces totaled 570,000 tonnes, down by 3.7% YoY and that from blast furnaces was at 904,800 tonnes, rising by 4.6% YoY.
In the first five months of 2012, France's crude steel output amounted to 7 million tonnes, surging by 4.5% YoY. Among them, 2.8 million tonnes were from electric furnaces, rising by 5% YoY and 4.23 million tonnes were from blast furnaces, increasing by 4.1% YoY.
