Recently, the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl has revised its forecast for the country's crude steel output in 2012 due to sluggish economy.
The federation previously forecast that Germany's crude steel production would be at 44 million tonnes in 2012, however, it cut the forecast because of the uncertainties in global economy and weak demand.
In the first half of 2012, Germany's crude steel output totaled 21.9 million tonnes, deceasing by 5.7% YoY.
Furthermore, it's been seen that the country's crude steel output might drop further in the second half of 2012 as the steelmakers will postpone production for maintenance in summer.
