It is reported that South Korean steel producer Hamyang Steel Co has decided to delay the hot run test of its new 50 million tonnes electric arc furnace until the end of December 2011.

An official at the company said that "We are at the finalization stage of the introduction of our new arc furnace, but we plan to conduct the hot run test of the furnace at the end of December 2011, one month later than our original schedule."

Accordingly, the startup of the furnace will be delayed by two months from the initially targeted startup date of late October 2011.
