Prevailing price of HDG in Italy is around EUR 600 per tonne basis equivalent to about EUR 770 per tonne delivered for 0.50 mm in Z200 coating. This is climb down of nearly EUR 60 per tonne to EUR 70 per tonne since a week ago.
Discounting EUR 30 per tonne to reach CFR FO levels with 90 days payment (usual payment terms) comes to around EUR 730 per tonne.
In the dilapidated milieu buyers are looking for additional discount of EUR 40 per tonne to EUR 50 per tonne for delayed delivery off 3 to 4 months delivery time. That is bringing the price down to EUR 680 per tonne to EUR 690 per tonne or USD 980 per tonne.
Apparently this is the reality although some experts opine the reality might be another EUR 20 per tonne to EUR 30 per tonne less.
