It is reported that Hanjin Steel Pipes, a South Korean producer of various steel pipes for structural purposes, is currently installing major facilities at its new plant No 2 after finishing construction of a new factory building at the plant.

Hanjin Steel Pipes has spent about KRW 37 billion so far on the construction of a factory building, a painting shop and an office building for the new plant.

An official at the company said that "We will finish the construction works at the plant and start up the facilities in December 2011."

At the plant No 2, Hanjin Steel Pipes has already installed a pipe mill that can produce three inch steel pipes for structural purposes or plumbing works. In addition, it will also install two new slitting units and two painting units at the new plant. With the launch of the new plant, the overall monthly steel pipe production capacity of the company will be increased from the current 6,500 tonnes to 9,000 tonnes.

Hanjin Steel Pipes also plans to introduce a new production line for 10 inch steel pipes in 2012 to raise its total monthly steel pipe production capacity to 13,000 tonnes.
