Worldwide industrial services and engineered products company Harsco Corporation has announced the promotion of Ms A Verona Dorch to the position of VP, deputy general counsel and assistant corporate secretary.

Mr Mark E Kimmel SVP, chief administrative officer, general counsel and corporate secretary of Harsco said that "This well deserved promotion recognizes Ms Verona's legal stewardship and sound counsel in furthering our long Harsco traditions for integrity and strong corporate governance."

In her new role, Ms Dorch will increase her involvement in the overall management and administration of the company's legal function and will take on additional responsibilities for providing direction to Harsco's legal resources, including overseeing the work activities assigned to the company's Americas based attorneys as well as outside counsel. She will also continue to serve as the company's primary corporate and securities counsel and provide continuing support to the company's board of directors.

Ms Dorch joined Harsco in 2006, having served in senior legal positions with leading law firms in Boston, New York and San Francisco, and as a member of the legal team for Sumitomo Chemical Company based in Tokyo. She holds a JD from Harvard Law School and a Bachelors degree from Dartmouth College.
