Horsehead Corporation has announced that it is taking several steps to reduce operating costs, including idling its recycling facilities the last week of 2008 by reducing its salaried workforce and revising the construction strategy for its new South Carolina facility.

Horsehead also announced that on December 1st 2008, it reduced its salaried workforce after previously reducing the use of consultants and temporary employees. It has also performed a review of its contracting strategy for construction of its new South Carolina facility.
