With ICRF 2012 the Steel Institute VDEh is organizing its first conference for ingot casting and transforming. From June 3rd 2012 until June 7th 2012 the specialists will meet in Aachen for a dialogue on the state of the art of ingot casting and remelting, as well as the needs arising through rolling and forging. More than 400 experts from around the world are expected to attend this international event.
Recognizing technology trends
Particularly in the production of special steels, and with a global share of 8% in steel manufacturing, the ingot casting production plays an indispensable role. Among others, ingot casting products are required for power turbines responsible for power generation, and in the aviation and space industry. Further processing of the ingots and slabs involve rolling mills and forges. In the first ICRF 2012, a dialogue between steel manufacturers and specialists for metal forming as well as for users in machinery, aerospace, energy and research will be conducted. The aim is to provide a comprehensive overview of the available ingot casting, remelting, forging and rolling process and to identify technological trends and developments.
Beginning the dialogue
It's time for an in depth dialogue. The demands of the industry to produce high purity grades of steel in the ingot casting process are constantly increasing. Particularly the booming power plant construction is a driving force for innovations. First applications already promise many high quality presentations. The ICRF 2012 is offering experts of the various involved disciplines a broad international discussion platform for the first time.
See the solutions
The program of presentations for ICRF 2012 from June 3rd until June 7th 2012 allows for a considerable amount of free time to establish new contacts with the experts and to intensify those already existing. In the accompanying exhibition various companies will present their solutions for ingot casting, rolling and forging technology and introduce new products and services.
