With ICRF 2012, the Steel Institute VDEh is organizing the 1st International Conference on Ingot Casting, Rolling and Forging from June 3rd 2012 to June 7th 2012 in Aachen.
Over 110 accepted papers from 20 countries on the latest developments in ingot and re melting technology, as well as the requirements for rolling and forging highlight the great interest among experts. These contributions promise a high quality program.
Promoting developments
In its 12 sessions the conference will examine the central themes of ingot casting, rolling and forging technology. The focus will especially be on technological innovations, metallurgical procedures, new measurement techniques, additives and Refractories as well as measures to improve product quality. The great interest in developments in such re melting processes as electro slag re melting, vacuum arc furnaces and vacuum induction furnaces is noteworthy since they make up a special emphasis with approximately 20% of the registered papers. Another special focus of the conference will be laid on process simulation.
Clarifying trends and requirements
Ingot casting and its products are important vehicles for technological progress. They account for a share of 8% of global steel production. Preferentially this concerns with specialty steels for the innovative sectors of power engineering, the aerospace, shipbuilding and automobile industries, the oil and gas industry, tool manufacture and machinery construction, as well as medical engineering. The 1st International Conference on Ingot Casting, Rolling and Forging brings steel producers, forming technology specialists and research institutions together with the steel users. Technological trends and requirements will become visible.
