Japanese May rolled copper output down by 41.5pct YoY
Preliminary industry data showed that Japan's output of rolled copper products fell to 48,550 tonnes in May 2009 on a seasonally adjusted basis, down by 41.5% YoY.
Japan Copper & Brass Association said that the figure represents a 13.8% MoM increase from April. It added that demand for the industrial metal in Japan has plunged due to the deep economic downturn.
