Japanese industrial machinery orders fell by 13.3pct YoY in July
The Japan Society of Industrial Machinery Manufacturers reported that orders for industrial machinery fell by 13.3% YoY to JPY 282.76 billion in July 2012 as steelmakers and other manufacturers avoided investments.
Overseas orders for machinery fell by 32.7% YoY to JPY 82.55 billion, while domestic orders slid 1.7% YoY to JPY 200.2 billion.
Orders for chemical machinery also dropped, due to a decline in new plant construction and other large projects throughout Asia. Orders for boilers and motors also fell.
