
TEX reported that Japan's domestic market prices of locally available ferrous scrap averaged JPY 27,410 per tonne delivered steelworks for number 2 HMS in the Kanto, Chubu and Kansai areas as of September 14th 2009, up JPY 289 from a week ago. As a result, the average price advanced for the first time in three weeks.
As of September 14th 2009, the monitor prices of number 2 HMS ex steelworks in cash transactions were JPY 27,750 per tonne in Kanto, up by JPY 333 from a week ago, JPY 26,080 per tonne in Chubu, up by JPY 200 and JPY 28,400 per tonne in Kansai, up by JPY 333.
As a result, the monitor price hit bottom and rebounded in each area. The monitor price indicates the average of benchmark prices.
