Japanese steel exports up by 3.1pct YoY in June 2012
The Japan Iron and Steel Federation said that Japan's steel exports expanded for the second straight month in June 2012, rising 3.1% YoY to 3.61 million tonnes.
The weakening of the yen in February and March 2012 enhanced the competitiveness of Japanese manufacturers, leading to increased orders. Inventory adjustments in Asia also helped expand steel exports.
