On September 30th 2009, Korea Iron & Steel Association had announced the winners of the 2009 Steel Design Awards.

The awards were given in two areas namely, steel structure design and steel furniture design.

The grand prize in the structure sector was given to the Inha University team led by Mr Lee Sae rom. The Inha team won with its piece called 'Golden Starfish.'

In the furniture sector, the prize went to Sangmyung University's Mr Yoo Ji in team, whose design was called 'The Point and Space'.
