
AP reported that a late steel executive has bestowed another huge donation of USD 25 million to a small western Pennsylvania college.
Thiel College officials announced that the donation from the estate of Mr William S Dietrich II. Mr Dietrich's parents were alumni.
The Pittsburgh Tribune Review reported that Mr Dietrich's gift matches the school's annual budget.
The college in Greenville is about 80 miles north of Pittsburgh and has 1,100 students. It's the latest in a long list of western Pennsylvania institutions to benefit from Mr Dietrich's philanthropy.
Before he died on October 6th 2011, Mr Dietrich gave USD 265 million to Carnegie Mellon University and USD 125 million to the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr Dietrich was born in Pittsburgh and grew a family business into the nation's largest manufacturer of light metal construction framing.
