The Metals Service Center Institute, kicking off an executive information series unique in the metals industry, will offer the inaugural MSCI Executive Forum at the Brookings Institution in September 2010. The MSCI Brookings relationship was announced at the 2010 MSCI Annual Meeting.

The forum will be the first of a long term series of executive information and education opportunities offered by MSCI with Brookings and its executive education partner, Washington University in St Louis. Topics to be addressed by Brookings experts during the two day event include trade, climate change, US Canadian relations, and the Washington DC policy environment, all with an emphasis on their impact on the metals industry.

Mr M Robert Weidner III president & CEO of MSCI said that "MSCI's paramount goal is to provide the intellectual capital and expert analysis that can help any of our member companies to do business better. We are proud to offer senior executives this unique opportunity to gather insight from Brookings experts in each of these important subject areas. More important than this particular program, however, will be the long term benefits that our members will derive from access to the Brookings Institution, its remarkable people and its intellectual firepower."

Washington University, which partners with MSCI to provide the Strategic Metals Management course of study for future senior executives, is the Brookings Institution's executive education program facilitator. The Brookings Institution was founded by Mr Robert S Brookings, a 19th Century industrialist and former Washington University board president.

Mr Weidner said that details of the September forum will be announced by June 1st 2010. He added that "It is my hope that metals industry executives will maximize the opportunity to access Brookings via this and other programs in the coming years. The talent base is extraordinarily rich, and the information and insights will be of lasting benefit."
