
The delivery performance of suppliers to manufacturing organizations was faster in June 2012 as the Supplier Deliveries Index registered 48.9%, which is 0.2 percentage point higher than the 48.7% reported in May 2012. This is the fifth consecutive month supplier deliveries have been faster than the previous month, following 31 consecutive months in which supplier deliveries slowed. A reading above 50% indicates slower deliveries.
The seven industries reporting slower supplier deliveries in June 2012 listed in order are: Petroleum & Coal Products; Chemical Products; Primary Metals; Electrical Equipment, Appliances & Components; Miscellaneous Manufacturing; Food, Beverage & Tobacco Products; and Computer & Electronic Products.
The four industries reporting faster supplier deliveries in June 2012 are Plastics & Rubber Products; Machinery; Transportation Equipment; and Fabricated Metal Products.
Seven industries reported no change in supplier deliveries in June 2012 compared to May 2012.
