
Data from the National Statistics Institute showed that Romania's trade deficit was down by 5.5% after seven months, down to EUR 5.24 billion.
Exports were up to EUR 25.8 billion in the period January to July this year, 25.5% more than in the same period a year ago. Imports also increased by 19%, up to EUR 31 billion.
The value of intra European Union exports was of EUR 18.34 billion (71% of all exports) in the first seven months, while imports from the EU were worth EUR 22.21 billion (71.5% of all imports).
Romania mainly exports cars and transport equipment - 41.7% of exports and other manufactured goods (33.8%).
In national currency RON, the trade deficit is down by 32% to RON 21.83 billion
