
Romanian Times reported that total direct foreign investments in Romania amounted up to EUR 1.63 billion in the first 11 months of 2011.
The central bank said that the foreign direct investments covered 38% of the account deficit of EUR 4.23 billion. The foreign investments were 36% lower than in the same period a year ago.
In 2010, FDI stood at EUR 2.596 billion, which was 25.5% less than in 2009, when it was EUR 3.488 billion.
Romania attracted a record EUR 9.1 billion FDI in 2008, up by 25% from EUR 7.251 billion a year earlier.
