Malaysia Steel Works Bhd is currently bidding to supply over MYR 1 billion worth of steel bars for the Klang Valley mass rapid transit project.
The job, if secured, would make the company busy for three and a half to four years.
Mr Datuk Seri Tai Hean Leng MD told reporters after Masteel's annual general meeting that "Too numerous people to mention but we have our own unique scheme we think we can fulfill their requirement in a competitive way."
He said Masteel would likely know the outcome of its bid towards the second half of this year.
Mr Tai said steel bars were needed in building culverts, drains and tunnels and the infrastructure part of the track system.
