Mitsubishi Motor Corporation said that sales dropped by 62.9% to 2,340 vehicles in China in September 2012 amid strong concerns over the impact of anti Japanese sentiment fuelled by a territorial row between China and Japan.
The September 2012 sales posted a larger on year drop than the 33.4% slump in August 2012 and lower sales volume than the 3,495 vehicles sold in the previous month.
As Japanese auto makers are facing fierce pressure in China following anti Japanese protests in mid September 2012, fears of sagging demand have led some car makers to lower local production.
