European market for flat products market is poised for price war thereby pushing sentiments from bad to worse. As a defensive measure to ward off threat from cheaper imports from China the Italian plate majors have already taken recourse to price cuts and it is reported that plates in thickness range of 15mm to 30mm is being offered @ EUR 350 pmt ex-works for material certified only according to chemistry, roughly equivalent to S235JR / S275JR, mill edges.(Ref: Our mail shot dt March 20th 2009)

1. Domestic prices are EXW or DDP with payment 90 days from delivery
2. Import prices are CIF FO with LC at 90 days from B/L date
B. Germany

2. Import prices are CFR FO with open term payment at 30 days from date of arrival
