European steel market continues to delve in misery. The excruciating agony deepens with each passing week we approach to end of 2011.
Presence of unsold material aplenty has spurred the mills and traders to clear off the inventory before the winter vacation. Most of the service centres are eager to destock as the demand remains subdued thereby depressing the prices further.
On the other hand the buyers are averse to stocking and restricting their buying to purely need based.
New Year does not seem to augur well for the market as buyers in the fray are bidding lower than the present levels for January delivery.
The demand is generally quite low and stocks are highly un assorted but nobody wants to buy for stock, only for back to back business.

HRP prices continue to reel under pressure with domestic offers plummeting below EUR 530 per tonne for over rolling parcels.

Despite production cuts implemented by some HRC mills the price of HRC continued declining remaining well below EUR 500 per tonne and inching towards EUR 450 per tonne.
