It is reported that domestic mills in Italy are attempting to increase prices amid weak resistance of buyers.
As per market information, one of the Italian steel major has been able to get EUR 10 per tonne to EUR 15 per tonne increase that seems to have been accepted by customers without particular problems.
It is also heard that similar moves have been adopted by another Italian steel major for CR and HDG. Rumors are indicating that the producer is flatly refusing any bids below new levels.
Nominal prices for de-bars are around EUR 515 per tonne to EUR 520 per tonne FOB, (USD 670 per tonne to USD 675 per tonne), however without any taker for the time being.
