
1. Turkey - Lull prevails
Although Turkish mills have been shying from scrap purchase due to pre Ramadan slow demand in Middle East, it is China and South East Asian market calling the shots.
Current offer prices for HMS 1&2 70:30 are at USD 300 per tonne CNF, USD 8 per tonne to USD 13 per tonne higher than the last week’s offers. HMS 1&2 80:20 prices are at USD 310 per tonne CNF, up by USD 10 per tonne to USD 15 per tonne, and shredded scrap is at USD 315 per tonne, also up by USD 10 per tonne.
Russian A3 grade scrap is being offered for Turkey at USD 308 per tonne CFR Marmara.
