Mr Bernhard Kleinermann had been appointed as the new spokesman of Salzgitter AG and head of Corporate Communication, effective September 1st 2011.

As of this date, he will be the successor of Mr Bernd Gersdorff who will be at hand to assist until he retires on December 31st 2011. Mr Gersdorff will be 65 years of age in November 2011. He will continue to have close ties with Salzgitter AG.

This succession planning ensures continuity in the external presentation of the MDAX listed steel and technology company based in Lower Saxony.
