NHPR reported that a North Country businessman plans to resuscitate a steel fabricating company in Berlin that closed earlier this year putting about 100 people out of work.

As per report, Whitefield businessman Mr David Presby is buying the building and land once owned by Isaacson Structural Steel in Berlin. He expects to close the deal early this week.

Mr Presby says he plans to diversify and make more than the structural steel used in new buildings. He added that "I've got some ideas that I want to build there. I want to make this company not have all its eggs in one basket."

About 100 people lost their jobs when Isaacson closed earlier this year. Mr Presby says he needs their metal working expertise but he isn’t sure yet how many he can rehire.

Mr Presby owns Presby Environmental in Whitefield. Previously he bought another Isaacson firm that sold steel and 15 of the 19 workers were hired.
