Ms Carola von Schmettow is to succeed Dr Ekkehard Schulz as member of the supervisory board of ThyssenKrupp AG.

In its meeting on January 20th 2012, the supervisory board of ThyssenKrupp AG approved a corresponding proposal by the nomination committee.

Ms Carola von Schmettow is a member of the management board of HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG. Until the 2013 Annual General Meeting, when she will put herself up for election by the Annual General Meeting, Ms von Schmettow is to be a court appointed member of the Supervisory Board.
