On January 12th 2012, POSCO Calendar designed with a theme of family won a special award at the 63rd Calendar Exhibition in Japan, held by the Japan Federation of Printing Industries.
The Calendar Exhibition in Japan hosted by the JFPI is a prestigious event where each year calendars manufactured not only from Japan but also from all around the world are invited to compete. The competition will be judged by a panel of experts and professionals in the relevant field.
At the exhibition held in Gallery Ginza in Tokyo, between January 11th 2012 and January 13th 2012, a total of 714 entries produced by business enterprises and public organizations from all over the world were presented to compete for top honors.
The panel of judges reviewed that the POSCO calendar nicely conveyed the Korean sentiment through its works with a theme of family, while at the same time putting perfection in the works by wonderfully depicting the colors, textures and cubic effects of the original paintings.
2012 POSCO Calendar which won a special award at the event vividly expresses family love portraying the Korean sentiment through works of Korea's three representative artists such as Mr Kim Whan ki, Mr Park Soo keun and Mr Chang Uc chin. To revive the cubic effects of the works as if they are directly drawn on the paper, POSCO utilized the matiere method to embody the works close to the original forms.
In 2011, the KB Kookmin Bank received the same award at the annual event, followed by SK Group in 2009.
