POSCO said that it has recently signed 50 deals with its customers for increased cooperation and improvement in product quality in a bid to tide over the global economic slump.
According to POSCO, the deals include a long term supply contract with Hitachi Electronics of Japan and another supply deal with India's leading pipe producer Welspun Corporation.
POSCO said it also signed a deal with Doosan Infracore Co, South Korea's leading construction equipment maker, for cooperation in the development of construction materials.
POSCO expects increased business cooperation and a series of supply deals to help itself and its customers overcome the protracted economic slowdown.
Meanwhile, POSCO also held a global forum in Seoul earlier in the day to improve cooperation with customers with some 1,000 officials from some 450 companies such as Samsung Electronics Co and Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co attending.
