
Major General (Retired) Muhammad Javed has been appointed as new chairman of Pakistan Steel Mill Corporation.
Major General (Retired) Javed uring his first address to the officers of the mill at the Metallurgical Training Centre last week said that "The new management of Pakistan Steel would mainly focus on minimizing dependence on outside resources to solve our operational problems and no unnecessary retrenchment would be done.”
The new chairman said that there is considerable room for improvement in water supply, power and gas systems, for which emergency plans would be chalked out and the work would be streamlined. He said "We should also adopt futuristic and pre emptive approach so that the damages to the plant are timely controlled and none of the equipment and machinery comes to a halt."
