The Jakarta Post reported that motorcycle producer PT Astra Honda Motor has sold over 3.4 million motorcycles in Indonesia in 2010, a 26.5% increase from 2009.
Mr Auddie Alexander Winata director for marketing at Astra said that in 2010, the company recorded sales of 3,416,019 motorcycles, up from 2,701,278 in 2009.
He said that the growth was about the same rate as national motorcycle sales, which grew 26% in 2010. It also established Astra's leading position in the national market, with 46% of the nation’s total motorcycle sales accounted for by the company.
Mr Auddie added that the Honda Revo series remained Astra's best seller, with over 900,000 units sold in 2010.
