The Jakarta Post reported that PT Astra International will target a 5% to 10% sales increase in 2011 over last year's figure of 426,000 automobile units.
Mr Prijono Sugiarto president director of Astra International said that Indonesia's economy was set to grow stronger although certain factors could limit growth. He added that "There still much uncertainty. However, we can still grow between 5% and 10%."
ASII's sales hit 42,000 units in January 2011, up 11,000 from the same period last year.
Mr Prijono said that the company has allocated USD 1.3 billion to USD 1.4 billion for capital expenditures in 2011 to expand into the palm oil, coal and infrastructure sectors, among other areas.
