
The National Coordinating Board of Campesino Organizations said in a statement that supports the cause of Acepar workers to management claiming better working conditions. On last Wednesday there was a sharp clash between strikers and police.
The peasant union in favor of the strikers who, they claim, just call an end to trade union persecution, compliance with the collective contract and better working conditions.
It added that "We condemn the violent acts led the National Police, in conjunction with UN peacekeepers, against the demonstrators, who were wounded by rubber bullets into a new confrontation that occurred at approximately 15:00 hours near steel plant in Villa Hayes, yesterday."
The action by adherents of Acepar Workers Union began on April 16th 2010. During that time, and there were several clashes between employees and the National Police.
It may be noted that the latest clash took place early Wednesday in front of the mill. According to the strikers, the military cracked down twice to the demonstrators and 15 people were hospitalized because of the repression.
