The manufacturing facility that produces pre engineered steel buildings for Olympia Steel Buildings, one of the world’s largest steel building companies in America, was recently awarded a renewal of their International Accreditation Service Certificate of Accreditation.
This accreditation is a three part inspection program for Manufacturers of Metal Building Systems and includes: fabrication of structural weldments and cold formed products requiring welding, fabrication of cold formed products not requiring welding, and design of metal building systems
The steel building manufacturing facility is located in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, a town about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh.
Mr Pat Kern GM of the facility said that "This quality certification is the standard for the metal building Industry and is equivalent to ISO 9001, 9003 or 9007 from a written specification compliance standpoint."
Fabrication inspection procedures covered by this certification are conducted in accordance with the fabricator’s approved quality control manual and conducted periodically by Allied Testing and Geoscience, LLC at the Ambridge site. The purpose of the inspections is to monitor and verify continual compliance with requirements established in the IAS Accreditation Criteria for Inspection Programs for Manufacturers of Metal Building Systems.
Mr Kern said that "This renewal means that our facility not only meets all manufacturing requirements but also shows our customers how dedicated Olympia Steel Buildings is to producing the best products available in the market."
