Porsche Inter Auto 2010 sales up 5pct to CZK 6 billion

CTK reported that Porsche Inter Auto CZ, the largest Volkswagen dealer on the Czech market and the exclusive importer of Porsche cars, saw its 2010 sales grow by nearly 5% to CZK 6.3 billion. New car sales rose by 11% to 10,036 units. The firm had also sold 2,845 used cars.

Skoda cars were in high demand and the firm sold 4,564 new cars. Volkswagen came next selling 3,061 passenger cars and 987 utility vehicles.

The sale of luxury Porsche cars went up by a fifth to 223 units. The firm sold 108 Cayenne cars, followed by Panamera with 77 units. Also 25 Porsche 911 cars were sold.

Ms Anna Gruberova spokeswoman of Porsche Inter Auto said that "We have surpassed another level in new car sales thus confirming the number one position in the Czech market." She added that small and luxury cars were in high demand.

Ms Gruberova said that the sale of Porsche cars is on the rise thanks to Panamera and Cayenne models. She added that "We expect to sell more than 250 Porsche cars in 2011."

Porsche Inter Auto CZ, which is 100% owned by Austria's Porsche Inter Auto, employs 720 staff in 8 outlets in the Czech Republic.
