Reuters reported that Nippon Steel Corporation is unlikely to restart a blast furnace at its Kimitsu plant near Tokyo in 2009 due to an unclear outlook for demand in Japan.
Nippon Steel said last week that it would resume operations at a blast furnace at its Oita plant in southern Japan.
