It is reported that POSCO stainless steel CR production facility will delay production in September 2009, which was originally planned to start at the end of May 2009, due to slow market.
The mill has designed capacity of 400,000 tonnes per year. Besides, the second CR mill has been finished equipment maintenance and has restarted on May 10th 2009, as the output enlarged to 2.7 million tonnes.
POSCO had discussed about an output enlarge project since the fall of 2007 and decided to run the repair project from December 2008 to May 2009. The second CR mill number 2 PCM is able to produce width 1,570mm to 1,890mm and output enlarged from 1.99 million tonnes to 2.7 million tonnes.
