Ruukki is to enlarge its corporate executive board to speed up and improve the effectiveness of management decision making and the implementation of decisions to strengthen its market position. The business environment is changing increasingly faster and it is important to improve the company's capability to react by effectively combining experience and expertise in different parts of the business.
The present members of the corporate executive board Mr Sakari Tamminen, president & CEO and chairman of the executive board; Mr Markku Honkasalo, CFO; Mr Olavi Huhtala, EVP, Ruukki Metals; Mr Tommi Matomäki, EVP, Ruukki Construction and Marko Somerma, EVP, Ruukki Engineering, remain on the board after October 1st 2011. Effective from October 1st 2011, Somerma had assumed responsibility for corporate strategic planning.
Mr Mikko Hietanen EVP Business Development had assumed responsibility for risk management and for business development projects as of October 1st 2011 and report to president & CEO Mr Sakari Tamminen.
The corporate executive board will be enlarged with four new members:
Ms Eija Hakakari serves as SVP, Human Resources. She joined Ruukki in 2008 and has a strong track record in organisational development, HR development and HR management in an international business environment.
Mr Toni Hemminki is SVP, Technology, Energy and Environment at Ruukki and joined the company in 2001. A distinguished international expert in his field, his ability has been widely used also outside Ruukki.
Ms Taina Kyllönen is SVP Marketing and Communications as of October 1st 2011. She has in depth expertise in international marketing, brand building, communications and investor relations. Ms Kyllönen joined Ruukki as VP, Corporate Communications in 2004 and has served as SVP, Marketing at Ruukki since 2007.
Mr Ismo Platan is SVP Supply Chain Management, IT and Operational Excellence. He joined Ruukki in 2003 and is a long line expert in IT and international operational process development.

The new Corporate Executive Board replaces the existing Corporate Executive Board and Extended Executive Board.
