Ruukki announced plans to invest in a new paint shop and packaging dispatch department to serve engineering customers at the Jászberény plant in Hungary.
The plant makes booms, heavy frames and other welded components for the lifting, handling and transportation equipment industry and for equipment manufacturers in the energy industry.
Coating capacity at Jászberény will double as a result of the investment. The new facility will also be able to process larger components, weighing up to 50 tonnes, than earlier. Solvent- and water-borne coating systems can also be used in the new coating facility. Modern technology ensures high quality and meets the high environmental and quality requirements of customers and the authorities alike.
It said “Ruukki's new paint shop will be one of the most modern in Europe and capable of processing massive items. It will come on stream in autumn 2010. The investment will cost around EUR 5 million. Ruukki Construction will deliver the frame structures and roof trusses for the paint shop, as well as wall and roofing cladding material for the entire project.”
