Yonhap reported that STX Group's European unit has clinched a deal to build a large scale cruise ship.

Under the deal with Libya's state owned GNMTC, STX France Cruise SA will build the 139,400 tonne cruise ship by 2012.

The group did not reveal the value of the deal, but industry sources estimate the value of the contract at around KRW 1 trillion.

STX Group said that the new cruise ship will be built at a shipyard in St Nazair in France. The ship will have 1739 cabins and be able to carry about 4,000 passengers.
