It is reported that Salzgitter AG's unit Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH will supply 70,000 tonnes of steel to an offshore wind farm project near the island of Helgoland in the North Sea.

Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH has been commissioned by the AM-BAU GmbH for the delivery of approximately 70,000 tonnes of heavy plate for offshore wind farm wind sea.

Die AMBAU GmbH will produce the sheets of the foundation structures for offshore wind farms, sea wind and the sea south east wind. These consist of so called 80 sets monopile and transition pieces, in which the actual wind towers will be built.

The 80 offshore wind turbines of 3.6 MW class, which is 23 km north of the island of Helgoland in the North Sea, built and operated to supply, the future 360 000 households.
