Bernama reported that Scomi was recently in Valenciennes France to receive the "Best Overall VAM Licensee" award by Vallourec & Mannesmann Oil & Gas France, a world leading manufacturer of Oil Country Tubular Goods product.

The award was given to Scomi OMS Oilfield Services Pte Limited, a subsidiary of Scomi Engineering Bhd which is based in Singapore.

Scomi OMS is a licensed OCTG manufacturer by VAM Services, a division of V&M which manages a world wide network of over 150 licensees to cut premium threads of VAM product line.

Mr Alan Tan SVP of Scomi OMS said that "We are pleased to highlight that Scomi OMS Singapore Machine Shop competed with over 150 companies globally, to achieve the prestigious award of Overall Best Licensee." He added that the international recognition was a clear testimony of Scomi OMS's capabilities and a key motivating factor to its team.

With over 30 years of experience as VAM licensee, Scomi OMS Singapore has extensive knowledge of the product. In ensuring that high quality standards are achieved, VAM Services provides technical support, training, dispatch of documentation and gauges, and regular audits to all its licensees around the world.

The award by V&M followed the annual audits carried out by VAM Services. Awards were given to selected licensees in recognition of their outstanding contribution and high quality delivery during the audit year. Other awards given included Best Improvement, Best Innovative Licensee, Best Licensee of the Threading Facilities, Best New Comer and Best Partner.
