Senators urge US ITC to impose duties on steel pipe
A bipartisan group of senators urged the US International Trade Commission to impose duties on steel pipe imports from India, Oman, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates, saying the influx of foreign pipe has harmed domestic businesses.
In a letter, addressed to ITC Chairman Mr Irving Williamson, the lawmakers say the steel pipe has entered the US at below market value and made it particularly difficult for steel pipe and tube processors located in Ohio, Arkansas and Pennsylvania to stay competitive.
