ShawCor Ltd has entered in a deal with Oregon Steel Mills Inc to provide pipeline coating services for Kinder Morgan's Rockies Express pipeline project. ShawCor’s subsidiaries Shaw Pipe Protection Ltd and ShawCor Pipe Protection LLC will provide anticorrosion and internal flow efficiency coatings for a significant portion of the pipeline. The initial work will be carried out at Shaw Pipe Protection's plant in Alberta as well as at the Portland Ore facility, which is currently under construction next to Oregon Steel Mill's new pipe manufacturing location.

The 2,682 kilometer Rockies Express pipeline will transmit natural gas from gas fields in Colorado and Wyoming to consumers in the Midwest and the Eastern United States. It is a venture of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, Sempra Pipelines and Storage and ConocoPhillips.
